Avoiding measurement errors

Avoiding measurement errors

The following tips can help you keep the temperature influence at a minimum, stabilise your measurement system effectively and avoid manual measurement errors:

Minimising temperature influence

  • Use a sensor with temperature compensation
  • Allow the measurement system to adjust to the ambient temperature for about 30 minutes
  • Take note of the operating temperature range of the sensor

Increasing long-term stability

  • Keep the measurement system clean and free of dust
  • Adjust the zero-point regularly
  • Calibrate annually

Proper measuring

  • Connect the pressure hoses correctly
  • Measurements should only be taken under the specified ambient conditions
  • The system pressure to be measured must not exceed the upper/lower limits of the sensor measurement range
